Pam Shields elected board chair; William Mohring chosen vice chair at Centennial SD 28J retreat

Pam Shields was elected Board Chair of Centennial School District 28J at the board’s July 30 retreat, winning a ballot vote 4–3 over Director David Linn.
Director Shields received votes from Directors Standley, Shields, Solowski and Mohring, while Director Linn received three votes (Linn, Hardin and Newman). After the results were read aloud by Executive Assistant Missy Grindle, Chair Rose Solowski completed the current meeting and said leadership responsibilities would then transition to the newly elected chair and vice chair.
William Mohring was later elected Vice Chair in a unanimous roll-call vote. The leadership vote followed nominations from directors during the retreat; Director Hardin nominated Linn and Director Standley nominated Shields and each nominee was given an opportunity to speak before the ballot.
The board’s election set the leadership roster ahead of the 2025–26 work cycle and governance discussions at the retreat.
