Superintendent Tim Crider provided a multi-part update on the district's reconfiguration planning. Transportation planning is underway with First Student to develop bus routes, walk boundaries, shuttle routes and estimated ride times; finalized routes are expected in August as work continues through the summer. The district also reviewed classroom assignments, inventories and coordinated moves of furniture, instructional materials and equipment to support the reconfiguration.
Facilities staff briefed the Board on summer maintenance, temporary storage and other preparations to support a smooth transition, and district staff described planned transition field trips to allow students to visit their new schools, meet staff and become familiar with their new learning environment before the fall.
