The North Bend School District #13 Board of Directors accepted the superintendent's proposed resolutions to two complaints filed by Darren Sinko during an executive session on Feb. 20, 2025. Director Dallas Petenbrink moved to accept the solution presented by Superintendent Vince Swagerty on the first matter (recorded as the "KL" complaint); Director Michelle Roberts seconded, and the motion was approved unanimously with seven "Aye" votes.
After reconvening, the board took up a second complaint from the same complainant (recorded as the "AC" complaint). Director Dallas Petenbrink again moved to accept the superintendent's recommended solution; Director Nathan McClintock seconded, and the board again approved the motion unanimously, 7-0. The minutes list the seven voting directors as Mary Schilling, Carol Yardley, Michelle Roberts, Julie Thies, Nathan McClintock, Dallas Petenbrink and Jim Jordan.
Both complaints were considered in executive session under the statute allowing consideration of records exempt from public inspection (ORS 192.660(2)(f)). The minutes record that the board "accepted the solution presented by our Superintendent, Vince Swagerty" for each complaint; the minutes do not specify the substantive terms of those solutions or any follow-up tasks.
