Mendota Unified board approves PG&E easement, AHERA inspections and equipment purchases

At the Nov. 13 meeting the Mendota Unified School District board approved several contracts and capital purchases required for operations and safety. The board approved an agreement with Pacific Gas & Electric Company for a temporary construction easement from March 1 through Aug. 31, 2025 and authorized a contract with a forensic analytical consulting firm to provide AHERA-required inspections and management-plan updates pursuant to U.S. EPA requirements.
The minutes also record approval to purchase a Turfcare TCA 1400 Astro Turf multi-function tow-behind sweeper for Mendota High Stadium and to purchase a 2500 HD Chevrolet Silverado truck from Gill Chevrolet to replace an older maintenance utility truck for the Maintenance Department. A payment to the law firm Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (invoice #727668) and the listed warrant ranges were approved as part of the consent and action items. Motions on these items passed 6–0 with Trustee Raul Varela absent.
