Superintendent Bret Champion opened recognitions by praising the contribution of classified staff to students, schools and the community and welcomed leaders of the Oregon School Employees Association: Amanda Potts (President), Sarah Reames (Vice President), Melissa Johnston (Secretary) and April Metcalf (Treasurer), along with Field Representative Lisa March.
The Board then recognized four eighth-grade math students for notable progress tied to the Board goal "Students are Numerate." Ruch Principal Ryan King, Hedrick Principal Lori Higgins, McLoughlin Principal Charity McLeod and Oakdale Principal Karina Rizo presented students with certificates and the Board took a short recess to take photos.
The recognitions were ceremonial and no formal action was associated with these items.
