Board approves budget amendment, ESD local service plan and policy packet
Summary

At the Feb. 20 meeting the Medford School District Board approved several consent and action items by roll call vote.
Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Kirk Kolb and Assistant Superintendent Brad Earl presented Budget Amendment #2024-25-1, including the need to build classrooms at Innovation Academy tied to enrollment and district goals. Suzanne Messer moved to approve the budget amendment; the motion passed unanimously (Yea:7).
The board also approved the Southern Oregon ESD 2025-26 Local Service Plan (motion by Suzanne Messer, seconded by Lilia Caballero) and adopted the February 20 policy packet on second reading (motion by Kendell Ferguson); both motions passed unanimously. The consent agenda was approved by unanimous consent and included staff assignment reports, prior meeting minutes and interdistrict transfers annual approval.
Board members asked questions during presentations about contract lengths, community input for the food service RFP and the role of the wellness committee; no items were removed from the consent agenda.
