Business-services staff told the board that the district must move its retirement-plan administration because the prior provider will no longer service governmental plans.
Yazmin Karabinas explained that many districts use OMNI and that the company offers flexibility and options; she said, "There will be no cost to the district." The board voted to accept the plan change and to add a 457(b) option for employees who want additional flexibility. The transition is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2026.
The minutes note the selection and the effective date but do not include vendor contract language or administrative-service-level details. Staff indicated the change was prompted by provider availability, not by district preference alone.
