Board proclaims National School Counseling Week, recognizes district counselors

Chair Patrick Gregg opened the Pendleton School District 16R work session and read a proclamation recognizing National School Counseling Week, Feb. 3–7, 2025. Director of Human Resources Kevin Dinning summarized each school’s counselors and behavior support specialists and Superintendent Kevin Headings presented certificates of appreciation.
Dinning listed counselors by site, including Miriah Golter and Haley Kannard at PELC; Patti Thorne and Haley Kannard at McKay Elementary; Lisa Roberts and Taylor Wilson at Sherwood; Maria Davis and Jaime Larsen at Washington Elementary; Keley Eckstine, Rick Scheibner and Matthew Rediger at Sunridge Middle School; and Karen Demianew, Ron Murphy, Madelyn Stuvland and Greg Whitten at Pendleton High School.
The board noted the work of counseling and behavior-support staff as essential to student success and acknowledged the week as a district-wide observance.
