Staff said council previously approved an easement vacation in April 2026 that released a 15-foot public utility and drainage easement adjacent to the rear line and staff confirmed no utilities occupy that area.
After receiving a staff report and discussing ordinance history, the board briefly recessed to consult the city attorney and then reconvened. Commissioner Monahan moved to approve the variance citing the board’s findings that the application met the variance criteria; the motion carried unanimously. "I move to approve case number 26Dash2958DashVAR," the motion read, with the exact footage included in the board packet.
