Resident says January minutes misstate variance outcome; board pulls minutes for correction

At the Aug. 3 meeting, resident Vicky Belcher urged the Board of Adjustment to correct the Jan. 5 minutes, saying the minutes inaccurately stated a variance was denied when the board had tabled the item. Belcher told the board she had repeatedly tried to resolve the matter and said she reported what she described as an attempted solicitation — an email that asked for $5,000 and used Lago Vista stationary — to the city manager.
The board acknowledged the concerns and followed staff’s request to remove the Jan. 5 minutes from the consent agenda so corrections could be made. "If you pass those minutes, you will be falsifying the meeting," Belcher said. Board members voted to pull that item and to return corrected minutes or a corrected packet for consideration at the board’s next meeting; staff said the corrected item could appear on Aug. 31.
