The district’s business staff presented an economic summary showing revenues down roughly 2.3% through May 2026 while expenditures increased about 7.9% year-to-date, driven largely by higher costs for fuel and supplies.
Tony reported fuel price movements: average diesel rose from about $2.82 in January to about $5.21 in April, and gasoline from about $2.72 to about $4.51. Total fuel spending rose from roughly $6,899.80 in January to approximately $17,500 in April, a jump Tony attributed partially to increased trip mileage in April.
Tony also said the district received a town loan of $6,400,000 on June 4 and that the district secured a short-term note interest rate of 4% per annum; the TANS payment will be due in December. Trustees asked for more detailed dollar-line backup on fuel drivers and supply impacts.
