The board voted to approve Resolution 7, authorizing the district to file paperwork asking the county to place a local option levy on the Nov. 3 ballot. Superintendent Susan presented a resolution similar to the one the board considered earlier this year and said the district will move forward with the county filing.
"This is the resolution for the board giving permission for the school district to file the paperwork and asking the county to put this on the ballot in November," Susan said. A motion to approve Resolution 7 passed on a voice vote.
Board members later reflected on the recently failed levy and said they will take responsibility for improving messaging and outreach before the next campaign, with a trustee noting the district lost by about 1,500 votes and calling for better community communication and partnership with the union on outreach.
