During questions, Director Tawari asked how the district forecasts enrollment for the coming year. Superintendent Bare explained the district "roll[s] up current enrollment for all grades except kindergarten," and added that kindergarten projections are based on an average of recent years. Bare said the district will "do a big push in the coming weeks to get incoming kindergarten students enrolled" and noted early indications that the incoming kindergarten class could be large.
Committee members were asked to review the materials and follow up with staff before the May meeting if they had questions. The enrollment forecast method will inform staffing and budget assumptions for FY25/26.
