The Seaside SD 10 Board opened a budget hearing on the proposed 2026–2027 budget and received no public comment, the board chair said.
"The meeting will now be open to receive public comment on the proposed 20 26, 20 27 budget document," the chair (S1) said when opening the hearing and instructing virtual attendees how to unmute. After a final call for speakers, the chair announced, "Well, no public comment. This meeting's adjourned." The chair reminded the public that complaints about personally identifiable staff issues will be redirected to the district's board policy (KL) on public complaints.
The budget hearing was held solely to take public comment on the proposed budget; the chair emphasized that the board's role during public comment is not to immediately respond. "If follow-up is necessary, we will direct our superintendent to do so," the chair added. Speakers were limited to three minutes each and the hearing allowed a total of 25 minutes for comments.
With no speakers, the chair closed the hearing and announced a short break before the regular board meeting, which will convene on a separate Zoom link for any board deliberations or votes on the budget.
