Valerie Keane used visitor recognition to sharply criticize the board's handling of a recent volleyball coaching change, saying the board ignored an attorney's investigation and alleging the decision amounted to "revenge" that harmed students. "Is your goal to hurt children?" Keane asked, urging the board to consider whether it should be ashamed of the action.
Keane also questioned why the business manager's contract contains a clause about devoting full time to duties while other contracts do not, and raised concerns — which she characterized as gossip she couldn't verify — about a prospective hire being related to or close to other staff. She requested copies of bills and payment records to review the district's expenditures. The chair did not open extended debate during visitor recognition and moved to the next speaker.
