Superintendent Aaron Miller told the budget committee on May 19 that he had implemented a district spending freeze "a few weeks ago" to limit expenditures while awaiting final government funding figures. Miller told the committee the earliest the district expects final government numbers is June 30, 2025; Business Manager Tara Garratt said the budget was prepared using maximum budget-cut assumptions to remain conservative.
Committee members acknowledged the uncertainty in state and government funding forecasts during the discussion. Denise Willms observed state funding projections are a best estimate; the committee approved the 2025–2026 budget as presented and directed the business manager to monitor funding changes and report updates when actual figures are available.
