Eddie Williamson suggested a board retreat to orient new members, cover salient sections of school code and review board goals; he suggested keeping the event short and practical and noted the value of a solicitor-led overview of meeting rules. "We were we sat in on a retreat, and I know new members such as, mister Robert Burnham," Williamson said, adding a retreat could include code and parliamentary-procedure refreshers.
Staff said they can prepare presentations, including school-code highlights and financial and governance best practices, and recommended assembling a short agenda and timeline. The board directed staff to develop options for a retreat and keep members informed of potential presentations and scheduling.
