Student rep: seniors awarded $93,000 in scholarships; drama and trips wrap up school year

Courtney Phillips, the district's student representative, reported at the May 19 meeting that the school newspaper printed its final issue for the year and that senior students had traveled to Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho.
Phillips said the drama club's production in the Driftwood Cafeteria was attended by approximately 110 people and that the senior class received $93,000 in scholarships at the Scholarship Banquet. The board thanked Phillips for her service this year, and Board Chair Judy Miles asked her to inquire whether any juniors would like to serve as student representative next year.
The board also heard that the Spring Fling is scheduled with water-day activities including a luau and kick-ball slip-and-slide events.
