Town clerk reports multiple dog complaints at 'sheep shop' property

The town clerk (S7) informed the Select Board that the animal control officer has received several complaints concerning dogs at a property known locally as the 'sheep shop.' The clerk said complaints center on dogs entering a neighbor's yard and asked whether a minimum response—contacting the owner and requesting they feed and contain dogs on their own property—would be appropriate.
"He's receiving numerous complaints about the dogs at the sheep shop," S7 said, and asked whether those calls should be handled by the health officer or as routine dog complaints handled by animal control. Board members agreed that, at minimum, a call or notice asking the owner to keep animals on their own property was warranted and that animal control should follow standard complaint procedures.
No formal action was taken beyond directing the clerk to notify animal control and proceed with a request that the owner address the nuisance behavior.
