Staff member (S3) told the board the aim is "to do one big update for all of these things, instead of piecemeal it into a subdivision regulations." The board did not vote on changes at this meeting; S3 said the materials will be carried to the next meeting for review and that staff will coordinate with the city of Baker and the town of Plevna about a recommended fee schedule.
The discussion covered whether jurisdictions should retain separate planners or enter interlocal agreements; S3 noted some jurisdictions have their own planners while others contract planning services. The board asked staff to prepare more detailed documents, including proposed road standards and an affidavit to be added to the certificate-of-survey review process for members to review at the next meeting.
Board members volunteered to attend a forthcoming meeting with county commissioners when that briefing is scheduled; staff said they would circulate drafts and collect comments by email before the next planning board meeting.
