The Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees approved its legislative priorities during the Dec. 13 workshop, adopting an amendment that revised wording on early childhood funding and added a directive to fully fund statutory requirements.
Trustee David Slattery moved changes under "Full Funding for Public Education," including a revision of item #8 from "Expanding funding for full-day Pre-K-3 program" to "Pre-K program," and a revision of item #4 to "Fully fund all requirements and eliminate unfunded mandates," with specific wording addressing security requirements tied to HB 3. The Board approved the amendment and then approved the legislative priorities as amended; the motions passed by a 6-0 vote. Later in the meeting, the Board also approved the HB 3 Board goals on a 6-0 vote (motion by Chris Earnest, seconded by Caroline H. Bennett).
