The board approved an organizational resolution covering assignment of custodians of funds, authorized check signers, depository banks, legal counsel, insurance agent-of-record, substitute daily rates and district fees.
During discussion of the district’s lunch program, Superintendent Aaron Miller explained that the district participates in the Community Eligibility Program, which currently allows all students to receive meals at no charge. He said federal income guidelines would continue to ensure low-income students receive free meals even if the district’s CEP status changed and stated he was "willing to invest more in the interest of seeing more variety, quality and quantity. He would rather see food wasted than see kids go hungry." Bob Brown moved to approve the organizational resolution and the board voted unanimously to adopt it.
The organizational resolution will remain in effect for routine administrative operations; the board flagged no change in policy but asked staff to continue monitoring meal program status and budget implications.
