The Port Orford-Langlois School District 2CJ board met July 21 and swore in three officials elected in May 2025. Superintendent Aaron Miller administered the oath to Carol Hacherl, Judy Miles and Korinn Hockett.
Carol Hacherl nominated Korinn Hockett for board chair; Bob Brown seconded the motion. All five board members — Hockett, Miles, Hacherl, Brown and Angel Ashdown — voted in favor and the motion passed. After the vote the gavel was passed to Korinn Hockett. Later, Hocker (sic) — corrected in minutes to Korinn Hockett — asked for nominations for vice chair; Carol Hacherl nominated Judy Miles, and Angel Ashdown seconded. The board again voted unanimously to appoint Miles as vice chair.
These officer elections were conducted under agenda item 2.0 and followed the administration of oaths to the newly elected members. The board recorded the votes as unanimous among the five members present.
