Staff recommended and the board approved two professional-services agreements to produce a master plan and feasibility study for the Tahoe City Community Center property. The scope described by staff includes site-plan and space-planning analysis, conceptual design and cost-estimating for modest aquatic and gymnasium options, phased implementation evaluation, and TRPA/regulatory coordination support. "Site plan and space planning determine what can be accommodated at the property," staff said while describing the BRS/CCAP scope.
The contracts were presented as a phased, methodical approach intended to inform subsequent work; staff said both consultants will collaborate and that funds for the work are available in the current-year budget. The board discussed timing for workshops and public engagement and asked staff to consider at least one evening public workshop to reach broader participation. Motions to authorize the general manager to execute both agreements were approved.
