The Danville Recreation Committee voted to add America’s 250th Year elements to Olde Home Days and discussed expanding the event’s attractions.
Vanessa moved to add the 250th elements and Sonia seconded; the motion passed. Ideas discussed included a pie-eating contest, a red-white-and-blue foam party and adding the Battle of the Boards with clearer signage to boost visibility. Sonia cautioned that staging a 5K would require substantial planning and should begin earlier if pursued.
Committee members asked Joe to clarify which August weekend will host Olde Home Days and to return with dates at the next meeting.
