Trustees raised concern that the district does not offer driver's education and that families lack convenient options. One trustee said the district should provide clearer information to parents about how students can meet the state's driver's education requirement, and suggested involving students in developing those resources.
"It might be a good senior project for a student to be able to gather that information and put it together in a way for people to to use," said a trustee, who proposed pairing a student with staff to create a sell sheet or guide for parents. Trustees asked staff to encourage the high school to provide a resource that helps families navigate local driver's education options so students are prepared and roads are safer.
