Planning Board flags possible review of school and public-safety impact fees

At the Jan. 22 meeting, Charles Underhill raised a question raised at a recent Budget Committee meeting about whether contributions to impact fees remain appropriate and how long it has been since the fees were adjusted. Chip Current responded that the school impact fee was updated in 2015 and the public-safety impact fee was updated in 2016 and said any change would be a Select Board matter requiring a warrant-article change next year.
Board members recorded the concern for future review and said they would take a look at the impact-fee schedule. No formal recommendation or amendment was presented at the meeting; the board noted the procedural step — a warrant-article change at the Select Board level — required for any adjustment.
