Spearman ISD board approves administrator pay increases and amends superintendent contract

After reconvening from closed session, the board approved pay increases for campus administrators and administrative staff as presented by Superintendent James Layman. The motion was made by Abby Pipkin, seconded by Mike Pearson, and carried 6-0.
The board also approved the district’s 2025–26 salary schedule for counselors, nurses and librarians (Exhibit C) and voted to amend the superintendent’s term contract to include a 4% pay raise with an annual salary set at $140,000 beginning July 1, 2025 and ending July 31, 2028. The amendment motion was made by Scott Sonnenberg and seconded by Jay Tracy; the motion carried 6-0. The minutes record the personnel actions as board approvals following closed-session consultation.
