Temple ISD recognizes student winners, Bonham Middle School ranking and scholarship qualifiers

The Temple Independent School District honored several students and a school at its Dec. 9 board meeting.
Karly Becerra, a Thornton Elementary student in grades Pre-K–5, was named the winner of the district Christmas card contest. Mkayla Jones, a seventh grader at Bonham Middle School enrolled in the Deaf Education program, received the Superintendent's Leadership Award after starting an American Sign Language club to teach classmates sign language. The board also recognized Bonham Middle School for inclusion on U.S. News' list of Best Middle Schools in Texas. Temple High School senior Jamarri Thrasher qualified for the Virtual Business Challenge - Management National Competition for a second consecutive year, and Temple High senior Chase Herrington was named a winner of the Friends of Texas Public Schools scholarship.
