Temple ISD approves consent agenda including budget amendment and major purchases

The Temple Independent School District Board approved a multi-item consent agenda at its Dec. 9 meeting. Ronnie Gaines moved to approve the consent agenda, Dawn Cook seconded, and the board approved the items by a unanimous 7-0 vote.
Items listed on the consent agenda included a district enrollment update; Budget Amendment #5; appointment of an agent during the May 2025 election period (this item was removed from the consent agenda and later considered separately); a 2025 joint interlocal election agreement; annual review of policy CDA(LOCAL) Other Investments-Revenue; approval to add Sourcewell as a new purchasing cooperative for the district; and purchases over $50,000 for seating at the Athletic Performance Complex, Verkada cameras and sensors, and a Temple High School band trailer.
The previously removed "Appointment of Agent During the May 2025 Election Period" was later voted on separately. Shannon Gowan moved to approve that appointment, Linell Davis seconded, and the motion carried 6-0 with Virginia Suarez abstaining.
