The Zillah City Council voted Feb. 3 to appoint Councilmember Janice Gonzales as the city's voting representative to the Yakima Valley Conference of Governments (YVCOG) Board and Councilmember Doug Stewart as the alternate, effective until Boards and Commissions are finalized.
Mayor Scott Carmack requested adding the appointment to the agenda. At the council meeting Brian Williams moved to add the appointment item; the motion passed. Mrs. Gonzales then moved, seconded by Mr. Williams, to approve Janice Gonzales as the voting representative and Doug Stewart as alternate; the motion passed unanimously.
Council did not specify a term beyond holding the positions until the Boards and Commissions roster is finalized.
