The Tarkington ISD Board voted May 19 to take no action on a proposed amendment to the 2025–26 academic calendar that would move Spring Break to align with Liberty ISD. The motion to leave the calendar as adopted on Feb. 24, 2025, passed 7–0 (motion by Dwayne Stovall; second by Paige Bostwick).
Human Resources Director Celeste Bradberry had presented the request on behalf of the Special Education Cooperative, explaining the proposal aimed to align Spring Break with Liberty ISD. Bradberry recommended keeping the February-adopted calendar because it aligns with Lone Star College and supports more than 70 TISD high school students enrolled in dual-credit courses; she also noted transportation staff can support differing schedules.
