The Tarkington ISD Board approved the purchase of two double-stacked Combi Ovens for Tarkington Middle School from Mission Restaurant Supply under Choice Partners Purchasing Cooperative Contract #23/038TP-10 at an amount not to exceed $90,000. The purchases will be funded from the Child Nutrition Program retained fund balance and are eligible for Texas Department of Agriculture reimbursement.
Child Nutrition Supervisor Kristy Fruia also updated trustees that the TECS serving line—more than 25 years old—was scheduled for replacement on April 25, 2025 and described features of the new installation, including electric systems, hot/cold waterless wells, stainless-steel construction, a cashier station and LED lighting.
The motion to approve the Combi Ovens (moved by Paige Bostwick, seconded by Jason Ward) passed unanimously by a 7-0 vote.
