Tarkington ISD approves Convergint security upgrades funded by SAFE grant

The Tarkington ISD Board approved purchase and installation of gate cameras and access controls at Tarkington High School (THS), Tarkington Elementary School (TES) and Tarkington Early Childhood School (TECS) from Convergint under Sourcewell Contract #03421-CTL for an amount not to exceed $50,000. The purchases will be funded from SAFE Cycle 1 grant monies.
Director of School and Student Services Chris Conner outlined the scope of work, which includes video intercoms, badge readers and dual-level pedestals at track gates and rear TECS/DAEP gate, and noted Convergint would provide electrical work and concrete pads as part of the installation.
The motion (moved by Kevin Johnson, seconded by Dwayne Stovall) passed unanimously, 7-0.
