The Tarkington ISD Board approved an agreement with the Tarkington Community Library at the April 21 meeting by unanimous vote (7-0). Ruth Stetson presented a financial update for the library and described upcoming summer programs planned for June and July.
Stetson told trustees the library plans to purchase a double-wide classroom unit that will be converted into a new library in the coming months. The board recorded the motion to approve the agreement (moved by Jason Ward, seconded by Dwayne Stovall) and voted unanimously to adopt the recommendation.
The library-service agreement and the planned facility purchase are intended to expand local summer offerings for children and support community access to library programming.
