During new business the committee heard from officials about Oxford Emergency Squad needs. The squad is down one vehicle that needs engine repairs estimated at about $35,000. Committee members said the squad is considering billing insurance companies for runs; implementing billing would require the township to adopt an ordinance to authorize such billing and to consult with the township attorney.
Mayor Norton and committee members agreed further discussion with the township attorney and the squad’s leadership is needed before drafting legislation or allocating funds. No ordinance or spending authorization was adopted at the July 15 meeting.
