Mahwah identifies fall planting for Semiquincentennial tree at Veterans Park

Chair Richard Wolf reported that Glenn Dowson, the township Department of Public Works director, confirmed the 250th anniversary tree planting has been approved and work is underway. Wolf cautioned that the tree may not be ready for a July 4 installation and is more likely to be planted this fall at Veterans Park.
Wolf also raised the idea of obtaining a plaque to commemorate the United States Semiquincentennial. The minutes record the update as informational; no formal action or funding commitment for a plaque was recorded at the June 10 meeting.
