District schedules shredding event and Open House, reports radio outreach and PSAs

The District announced several upcoming community outreach events and media efforts: a shredding event scheduled for Jan. 24, 2026; an Open House on Feb. 14, 2026; and multiple radio outreach efforts. Director Sergio Contreras and President Pro Tem Andrew Nguyen reported participating in a VNCR recording on Jan. 13, and Director Mark Nguyen and President Chi C. Nguyen participated in a Radio Bolsa recording on Jan. 15. Director Mark Nguyen and Administrative Assistant Harley Nguyen recorded a hazardous-waste PSA with Little Saigon Radio on Jan. 16.
Staff noted the events were designed to promote District services and proper hazardous-waste disposal; the minutes do not include attendance projections or event budgets. The announcements were delivered as part of the Director of Services and Program Development’s report and were received by the Board.
