The Jenkinsburg City Council on July 28 recommended approval of a Special Exception to allow an automobile service establishment in the H-B (Highway-Business) district on N. Hwy. 42. Councilmember Brent Eberspacher moved the recommendation; Gary Brown seconded. Council recorded ayes from Joye England, Gary Brown and Brent Eberspacher and a nay from Gary Roberts before passing the motion.
Staff recommended approval with specified conditions: an annual business license; submission of any required state license with license renewals; prohibition on continuous outdoor display of automobiles for sale (no open lot); requirement for a land disturbance permit before excavation or fill; building permits prior to construction of any foundation or vertical structure; application of Hwy 42 Overlay design criteria to the subject property; and a non-transferrable special exception that would require a new application if the business is sold.
