The Town Board voted July 7 to approve Amendment No. 2 to the professional services agreement with Delaware Engineering, DPC, adding tasks for redesign and re-bidding of the Kiamesha Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade. Delaware Engineering’s proposed fee for the amendment is a not-to-exceed $95,000.
The minutes state the town previously issued bid documents in February 2026, received four bids in April that were higher than available funding, and in April authorized a reduction in scope and reissuance of bid documents. The amendment is intended to support that redesign and rebid work. The minutes note a Project Financing Agreement with NYSEFC includes a $300,000 grant contingency that may reimburse the town for these engineering costs, subject to NYSEFC approval.
Councilwoman Melinda S. Meddaugh moved the amendment and Councilman Richard L. Benjamin, Jr. seconded it; the motion passed with all present voting yes. The supervisor was authorized to sign documents required by NYSEFC to implement the amendment.
