The Village of Ridgefield Park Historic Preservation Commission on May 28 reviewed an application from Lexington Equities, LLC to demolish an existing restaurant and four residential structures at 36–50 Mt. Vernon Street and replace them with a mixed‑use building. The proposal listed 52 residential units, parking, and 3,956 sq. ft. of retail space for Block 65, Lots 19–23.
No one appeared at the meeting on behalf of the applicant. "Members had questions about the drawings, but there was no one available to respond," the minutes state, and the commission requested written confirmation that materials, finishes and colors match previously approved drawings before it will vote on the application. Because the applicant has not provided the requested information or appeared at subsequent meetings, the commission has not advanced the application.
The commission also reaffirmed standard conditions for any approvals: the applicant must secure all required construction permits for reviewed work, and sign approvals must conform with the zoning ordinance and be approved by the zoning officer. The commission listed the next meeting as June 25, 2026.
