State VA Says Veterans Home Nears Reopening; Architectural Amendment for Committal Shelter Presented

Beverly Williams of the State VA told the committee the Veterans Home that was closed after a fire is in final inspection and that remaining veterans displaced by the fire are expected to move back next month. "We're expecting to move those move those back in, next month, and expecting in October, we'll start opening it up for new admissions," Williams said.
Williams also presented an amendment to an architectural contract to build a second committal shelter at Nurse Cemetery in Spanish Fort. Committee members asked a few brief questions; one member said the cost seemed low but offered no objections that blocked the amendment during the session.
