The Tulia Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously authorized the district to apply for the 2025-2026 ESSA grant and approved selecting transferability to permit flexible use of Title I-Part A allocations.
"Motion by Kacy Quinton, seconded by Nicole Gore to approve the district to apply for the 2025-2026 ESSA grant, based upon the released planning amounts as presented, and permit the district to select 'Transferability' for flexibility in spending the allocations in full alignment with all Title I-Part A program requirements. Vote unanimous." Superintendent Dixie Johnson had presented the ESSA application information during the public hearing and answered trustee questions prior to the vote.
The transferability option allows districts to move certain federal funds between entitlement programs within federal rules; the board's recorded vote gives district staff authority to complete the application and proceed with program planning for 2025-2026.
