County official reports computer upgrades, deputy parking option and National Night Out plans

Don Jacobs told the Jewell County Commissioners that several county computers need upgrades from Windows 10 and that he will review the quote from Nex-Tech and make changes as needed. He presented a price breakdown for an upcoming community event and said he would follow up after reviewing the vendor quote.
Jacobs also reported that a deputy interested in full-time work lives outside the county and proposed allowing that deputy to park a patrol car in Esbon when not on duty; commissioners indicated that would be acceptable. He announced he will host National Night Out on Aug. 5 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Mankato City Park and provided related cost details to the board.
