Tom Bean ISD approves multiple personnel actions after executive session
Summary
Following an executive session on April 14 to discuss personnel, trustees approved resignations, retirements, reassignments, rehiring of teachers and counselors, and several new hires; personnel motions were recorded as carried by unanimous votes where listed.
The board entered executive session at 8:22 p.m. under Texas Government Code §551.074 to discuss employment of individual employees and reconvened at 9:17 p.m. The public minutes list resignations (Ashlie Curits, Kaylee Lewis, Casey Riggs, Jan McBride, Patricia Page) and a retirement (Becky Shires). Reassignments and new hires were also discussed and later approved in open session.
In open session the board approved a series of motions: appointment of Morgan Cox as a substitute teacher; rehiring recommendations for teachers at the elementary, middle and high‑school levels on term and probationary contracts; rehiring of nurse Tiffany Yale on a term contract; rehiring of counselors Kim Teague, Brian Reed, Cristina Goodman and Chad Ashlock; reappointment of the high‑school band director on a two‑year term; and approval of new hires Tiffany Francis, Ashley Bearden, Chelsea Sutton, Lindsey Garner and Chad Luelf. Motions listed in the minutes were moved and seconded by trustees and recorded as carrying 5 in favor and 0 opposed where tallies are provided.
