Following acceptance of the town manager's resignation, the Council discussed next steps to appoint an Interim Town Manager. Town Attorney Jon Paladini explained the Town has an existing contract with Interim Public Management; to begin recruitment the Council needed to authorize a retainer (task order) under the contract.
On a motion made by Councilor Robin Godwin and seconded by Councilor Robert Foreman, the Council authorized retaining Interim Public Management to provide options for an Interim Town Manager and authorized the Mayor and Town Attorney to execute the contract. The roll call vote was seven ayes and the motion carried 7-0. The retainer initiates recruitment and presentation of qualified candidates for Council consideration.
