On July 15 the Camp Verde Town Council reviewed proposed revisions to the Town's Personnel Manual and approved the document with two exceptions. Human Resources Director Julia Kaiser and Acting Town Manager Michael Showers outlined discrepancies between the manual and the Town Code โ notably differences that affect holiday pay and Town Manager provisions. Mayor Moore raised concerns about holiday pay structure for different departments and about exit interviews and positions eliminated without Council approval.
After discussion about operational challenges for the Marshal's Office in using holiday leave within a two-week payroll schedule, the Council approved the personnel policy "as presented, except for the proposed change to Section 3-2-3 and 3-8 of the personnel policy." Council directed staff to continue discussion on holiday pay at the Aug. 5 meeting and to schedule a work session about exit interviews and job elimination procedures. The motion passed 7-0.
