At the July 15 meeting, the Camp Verde Town Council voted unanimously to recommend approval of a Series 9 (liquor store) license for Smoke Express and Liquor, located at 348 S. Main Street #6B. Town Clerk Leah Rhodes summarized the application, and the applicant attended via Zoom but had no comments during the public hearing. The Council questioned distances to the nearest church or school; Town Attorney Jon Paladini and the Town Clerk answered those questions.
The Council's motion to forward a recommendation of approval passed on a 7-0 roll call vote. "On a motion made by Councilor Murdock, seconded by Councilor Seybold, the Council moved to approve submitting to the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control a recommendation of approval for a Series 9, Liquor Store License for Smoke Express and Liquor, located at 348 S. Main Street #6B, Camp Verde, Arizona, 86322." The recommendation will be considered by the state authority, which issues final licenses.
