Board hears facilities update: auditorium demolition done, HVAC shipped, track bids due Feb. 12

Business & Facilities committee member Josh Lacy told the board that demolition work in the auditorium has been completed and the new HVAC units have shipped. Lacy added that the city has given positive feedback on the proposed track project and that bids for the track are due Feb. 12.
Lacy also reported continuing concerns at the middle school, including foundation settlement and a leaking roof under review by Twin City Roofing, and said the district plans to solicit bids this spring to replace or upgrade camera security systems across district buildings. In board comments, trustees framed these facility investments as part of multi-year capital work that the district is managing alongside budget timing and grant opportunities.
