Neighbors urge Pitman to act on deteriorated vacant property at 154–156 S. Broadway

Neighbors raised concerns during the public portion of Pitman’s Feb. 24 council meeting about long-standing blight at 154–156 S. Broadway and asked the borough to pursue enforcement.
Robert Pissetti of 144 S. Broadway asked whether the borough has made efforts to contact the owner about the condition of the vacant property and urged remediation, saying the building "is empty and in need of repairs." Councilman Fitzpatrick responded that the borough has attempted contact and issued fines but received no response; he said council will discuss further with the Borough Solicitor to determine next steps.
Walt Madison of 152 West Ave also described the property’s poor condition during the public comment period. The council did not record a formal motion on the issue at the meeting; officials indicated follow-up with the Solicitor and continued enforcement efforts would occur.
